Walking into a new church for the first time can sometimes be intimidating or uncomfortable. At the Church of Christ here in Kingston, you can expect to feel welcomed and accepted by our little community, we come from all walks of life and are all ages!
It doesn’t matter if you are new to church or further along in your spiritual journey, we have a place for you here – you”ll fit right in!
WHAT WE BELIEVE
It is our desire to help people find and follow Jesus teachings in the Bible, not just through listening to his word but also though our daily actions in our lives. We happily wear his name and are followers of the “church of Christ” not as an identifying or denominational designation, but rather as a descriptive term indicating that the church belongs to Christ and God, our Father.
We do not conceive of ourselves as being a denomination –nor as Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Restorationism or Anglican — but simply as members of the church which Jesus established and for which he died.
We recognize our own personal shortcomings and weaknesses–and this is all the more reason for wanting to carefully listen to and follow the plan God has written for us in the Bible.
GOD HAS GIVEN US HIS PLAN
Religious division has no place in the church of our Lord. The Bible teaches this, and we teach it.
“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” – 1 Corinthians 1:10
Is it possible that God is pleased with all the division we have today? What can be done about it? We can take the Bible as our only rule and pattern and investigate what is taught and practiced and apply its lessons to help lead ore peaceful lives and to help those around us to do the same too.
