What We Believe at the Church of Christ

It is our desire to help people find and follow Jesus’s teachings in the Bible, not just through listening to his word but also through our daily actions in our lives. We happily wear his name and are followers of the “church of Christ” not as an identifying designation, but rather as a descriptive term indicating that the church belongs to Christ and God, our Father.

We do not conceive of ourselves as being a denomination –nor as Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Restoration Church or Anglican — but simply as members of the church which Jesus established and for which he died.

We recognize our own personal shortcomings and weaknesses–and this is all the more reason for wanting to carefully listen to and follow the plan God has written for us in the Bible. God has given us a plan. Religious division has no place in the church of our Lord. The Bible teaches this and we teach it as well, always defending all doctrine with Scripture.

“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing,

and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”

1 Corinthians 1:10

WHAT CAN WE DO?

Is it possible that God is pleased with all the religious division we have today? What can be done about it? We can take the Bible as our only rule and pattern and live our lives following his guidance. We are excited about what God is doing in our church and would love for you to be a part of it. Our desire is to worship the Everlasting God, to teach His Word, and apply it in our lives.
